The reunion is open to adult (18 years and older) Hong Kong/Chinese Adoptees/Orphans and relevant invited guests.  Family and friends of the adoptees/orphans are welcome at all the social events.  If you register and/or attend the 1st CAAWR 2010 reunion,  you  acknowledge and agree to the following provisions of this release:

Disclaimers

  1. The reunion is composed of a voluntary adoptee committee. CAAWR endeavors to make the reunion a good one.  Attendees are fully liable for themselves while in Hong Kong.  The committee recognizes that there could be emotional times for adoptees.  Due to the voluntary nature of this event, professional counselors will not be available.
  2. All attendees are expected to arrange their own flights, accommodation, travel and insurance.  Information about these are given on the website and CAAWR correspondences are only for guidance.
  3. For home stays the committee will put you in contact with the relevant people, however it is up to the attendees to arrange with the families directly the details of their stay.  There are limited spaces, so please make your arrangements as early as possible.  We cannot guarantee a home stay.
  4. We believe the venue and the dates (29th Sep – 2nd Oct) of the reunion are now unlikely to change.  The program is being developed and finalized.  We reserve the right to change the program, venue and dates.
  5. The CAAWR is not conducting roots tracing, birth record recovery or Hong Kong ID processing.  Any reunion talks and information on the CAAWR website are intended as resources that enable individuals to pursue these topics on their own.
  6. Talks given by speakers and comments made by individual attendees may not reflect the opinions of the CAAWR as a whole.
  7. Attendees have the right to withdraw from the reunion at any time at their own cost.  In this event, attendees will inform the CAAWR committee without delay.
  8. In the unlikely event that the reunion is canceled for unforeseen circumstances (this may include natural disasters and anything beyond the control of the committee), the CAAWR is not liable for incurred costs, and you attend the reunion at your own risk.  It is recommended that you buy travel insurance.  CAAWR will inform all attendees of cancellations without delay.
  9. Due to the voluntary nature of the committee, replies to inquires prior to the reunion will be answered as soon as possible.
  10. The reunion is mainly made up of English speakers.  We apologize but at this reunion there will not be any translators.

  1. It is natural at an event that has social aspects, people will want to take photos/videos of each other.  You agree that photos/videos taken of yourself can be used for personal use by other adoptees.  This may include putting images/videos on personal online networking or blog sites.
  2. You agree that no photos or video are given to press/media and publication that feature other attendees without written permission from such persons other than yourself that may appear in your photos/videos.
